Adorn

Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. 1 Peter 3:3-4

Oftentimes, this time of year, one tends to focus on the "adorning" of themselves, one's house, or even that lovely spread for all the guests at the next holiday dinner! The crazy pace of life takes over and the true act of adornment is non-existent. God says that one should not focus on the things on the outside, referring to the hair, jewelry, and garments but it also applies to anything that one is putting on a pedestal in place of the Lord, KING OF KINGS! Our God sees the heart, He came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10) and does not desire one to be consumed with external matters. As the verse in 1, Peter says, "even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit", let every heart be decorated this year with the time spent to grow and properly decorate the heart in time with the Lord and His word. This brings one's focus back to the level foundation that is built on the Prince of Peace to guide this holiday season in the way of the Lord to seek others' needs and bless hearts as in His image versus focusing on one's own. Just as with health and exercise, let each person be focused on achieving PURE GOLD, not by gazing on the outward appearance, but by refining and tuning the heart into the likeness of God. Let the PURE GOLD testimony show the true gift of good tidings of great joy (Luke 2:10). Spread good cheer through the world by each created being seeking the Lord's gift of love from a renewed knowledge after the image of Him! ADORN Him, in the beauty of His holiness <3
